The Role of Influence in Our Lives

Are you a leader? Like most people, you probably answer the question no, because you view leadership through the lens of a position or title. However, I submit you are a leader. Why would I make this claim? Well it is very simple, we all influence someone and according to leadership authority John Maxwell, influence is leadership and leadership is influence. Whether you are trying to impart wisdom into your children, convince your boss to try your idea, or brightening someone’s day with a smile and a kind word, you have influence. Therefore, we are all leaders.

So now that you know you are a leader, the question you need to answer is how are you using your leadership to influence others. Is it positive or negative influence? Are you adding value to others? Over the next several weeks, we will explore how to increase your influence. I hope you will join me on this journey. I promise it will be thought provoking and rewarding. I will kick-off our journey this Tuesday, March 19th at 8 pm, with a free Becoming a Person of Influence webinar. Please register at http://www.tinyurl.com/atb-032113 and join me as we explore the role of influence in our lives.

Watch this video from John Maxwell to hear his thoughts on Influence. Remember “with influence, you can achieve success at home, at work, and in every other area of life” (John Maxwell and Jim Dorn).
